Description
The Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) is also known as the chemistry panel or chemistry screen. It is an important set of tests that gives your healthcare provider information about your current metabolic state. This includes the health of your liver and kidneys as well as measuring your electrolytes and overall acid/base balance. It also provides information on your blood glucose levels and on certain blood proteins. This panel can help monitor conditions such as hypertension or monitor the effect of medications on kidney and liver function.
The CMP Panel includes: Albumin, Albumin/Globulin Ratio (calculated), Alkaline Phosphatase, ALT, AST, BUN/Creatinine Ratio (calculated), Calcium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride, Creatinine with GFR Estimated, Globulin (calculated), Glucose, Potassium, Sodium, Total Bilirubin, Total Protein, and Urea Nitrogen.
